Moving Forward

So here it is—my very first outfit post for both the year and the blog! *fireworks cracking* Thank you in advance for your sweet congratulatory messages.

In all honesty, I don't know where to start this post as I am deeply overwhelmed with the idea that I now officially have my own space to broadcast my fashion-related gayness. Hooray! Add in my perfectionist tendencies in not wanting this landmark post to be anything less than perfect entering the picture, and I'm officially going nuts. Now before I lose the remaining sanity in me, allow me to greet you all a "Happy New Year" (let's just pretend that it's still timely for me to do that, 'kay?). So how was 2013 for you, guys? Me, on one hand, I find it spectacular as it was filled with a lot of firsts—first shot at blogging, first photo shoot, first fashion event attended, and the long list goes on. On the other, I'm overcome with series of regrets with the false decisions I made, the opportunities I tossed away, and all those mighty might-have-been's. But whatever the judgement is, there's always the next year for us to regroup, make up for our mistakes and move forward, right?

And speaking of moving forward, I have to go the same direction on a lot of things and creating this blog is just the tip of the iceberg. I know that you're confused about the existence of this “other” blog given that I'm still connected with another albeit inactive one down the line. Well, for those of you who hasn't heard the news from me yet or have no clues at all with what I've been talking about, that adventure trail has reached its end for good. Or in a much simpler and less rhetoric translation, Wardrobe For Three has now taken a defunct status. *sobbing sounds* But no, there has not been any dispute whatsoever that has caused the unfortunate disbanding of the threesome just to clear the air. We mutually wanted to go our separate ways to be able to grow as individual bloggers and fashionistas, that's why. And nothing’s ever wrong with independence and individual growth, right? I won't be surprised if my former colleague’s individual blogs will pop out in front of our eyes soon enough. Let's just wait and see.

Another aspect of me that needs moving forward is my sense of style. You know me that much (or have read the about page of this blog) if you know that my style has lately been stuck in a rut alternating from edgy to playful and back. This year, I wish to take the extra mile by blurring the fine line between its split personality, and at the same time, scratching my idea of a comfort zone. The go-getter in me simply wants more, the reason why I wore such a bolder-than-normal outfit for our first A-Fash shoot of the year, hoping I'd sustain it for the rest of it and beyond (that's me, believing in the power of firsts). But more than anything else, this outfit aims to mirror the kind of life I wish to have for the year—fresh and full of adventure. I've always been the up-for-anything kind of person so it's normal that I would want to get out further into the world and experience more of what life has to offer. Maybe I could try out a new sport, learn how to play a musical instrument, and/or extend my social circle, who knows. What is important is for me to continue moving forward.

We're barely just two weeks into the new year so a lot of great things can still happen for the remaining forty eight or so weeks. And I'm proud to gush to you, guys, how I'm super loving it so far—my family is now doing okay, I'm not having problems in school either, and of course, the cherry on top it all, this blog has now finally come to life. I just hope that this strong feeling I have of 2014 being an even better year for me still rings true in the coming days (fingers crossed). Here's also hoping it would be the same thing for you too. :)

P.S. Thank you for checking this out. I may have threatened you to do so in exchange of your precious lives (yes, I did that, minus the “me taking lives” part of course) or you were redirected from someplace else out of genuine interest or curiosity or pity or whatever emotions you’re capable of unleashing but whatever. Just please do stay with me all throughout, yeah?
